Rachel Reeves avoids answering question on tax rises in pre-budget speech – video | Rachel Reeves

The chancellor did not directly respond to Sky News’s Beth Rigby on Tuesday when she asked her whether she would stick to Labour’s manifesto promise not to raise tax for working people. Reeves, who was giving a speech before her budget on 26 November said she was ‘setting the context up for that budget’ and would not set out individual policies yet. She added that her focus for the budget would be focus on ‘getting NHS waiting lists down, getting the cost of living down and also getting the national debt down’
